SOUTHERN media celebrities gave visitors to the biggest careers day in the south the benefit of their years of experience.
Early estimates are that over 3,000 people attended the Southern Media Carers Day on Wednesday 28th November. The editor of the Daily Echo Ian Murray said: "Today is important to me on a personal level because I remember when people took the time to show enthusiasm for my ideals and dreams. It is important for me to remember that and give young people a chance."
Eleanor Williams, 23, a part-time publicity officer from Poole, Dorset, said: "Today has been very useful for me but it needs to be bigger because there are so many people here and so much to see."
Andrew Waterman, 18, a student from Horndean, Portsmouth, added: "I can now see how to get into the industry. Everyone I have spoken to here has been very helpful."
Lee Holdway, 18, a student from Horndean, Portsmouth, said: "It is useful to talk to people with so much experience. Now, I have a better idea of what I want to do."
