MANY of them have battled against cancer and won. Now they want to give something back to the charity which has saved their lives.
More than 45 staff members from Southampton Customs and Excise have signed up to take part in this weekend's Race for Life.
Many of the women have lost friends or relatives to cancer or have suffered from it themselves. They are hoping to raise lots of money for Cancer Research by tackling the 5km course on Southampton Common.
Deborah Church, 38, from Southampton lost her mother Ruby Reay to stomach cancer. Deborah's mother came to live with her in October 1996.
"She survived long enough to see me get married," said Deborah. "But she passed away in May 1997. She deteriorated really rapidly."
Deborah and the teambased in Maybush, will be tackling the 5km course.
