Saints are one step ahead when it comes to dealing with the young supporters of the club.
As many of you may know I am a matchday supervisor in the Team Saints enclosure and have recently been put through the paces of the FA Child Protection Certificate.
This was lead by Saints' very own academy director Huw Jennings and proved just how important the young Saints supporters are to the club.
The Friends Provident St Mary's Stadium now offers a bigger section to the Team Saints and also offers the chance for parents to accompany their children.
The FA Child Protection Certificate was attended by various officials of the football club and took us through what should and should not happen with children when in our care.
However, I would like to take this opportunity to remind all the children to be aware that they must stay in their seats after the game until told to move by one of the supervisors.
And a reminder for all parents who are leaving their children to ensure they are back to the community lounge (south stand) as soon as possible after the game to collect their children.
The young support of the club is growing and this is great for the other fans, the players and the staff to see.
This was clearly illustrated on Saturday at the Chelsea game when, before the game and at hal-time, a selected group of children were representing what young skill we have waiting in the wings - not only in our area but also within our club.
Now onto Saturday's game...oh dear!
It was a similar story at Leeds as the Saints players started well and created a few chances.
Although this all changed when Chelsea went ahead. I don't know if anyone else is thinking this but, if I was a player and went behind, wouldn't you play faster and harder to get back in the game?
It just frightens me now that our first three points of the season will have to come at White Hart Lane!
I would rather be a fan on that occasion than a manager! I think most of you who will be at the Spurs game would agree!
