GLENN Close wouldn't be impressed if she was rewarded at the end of a hard day's filming with a garlic sausage.
But for Afghan hound Letitia - one of Miss Close's co-stars in the new Disney film 102 Dalmatians - a daily feast of sausage and bacon was one of the highlights of her hectic filming schedule.
Three-year-old Letitia, of Turkey Island, Shedfield, near Bishop's Waltham, spent two weeks filming a painstakingly-choreographed dinner party scene for the live action movie - a follow-up to The 101 Dalmatians - which is due to be released at Christmas.
Her owner, dog trainer Sally Bradbury, was approached to help out on the film as trained Afghan hounds are notoriously hard to come by.
"We worked for six weeks on the movie, filming just one scene," said Sally. "It's a dinner-party scene where Cruella DeVil, played by Glenn Close, has invited lots of high society people and their dogs, who are all seated around the table.
"It all starts off quite well, but then there's a riot and the dogs trash the table. We spent about two weeks rehearsing and had to train the dogs to sit and stay. Most of the dogs in the film actually auditioned, but we didn't have to because they couldn't find a trained Afghan. They just phoned me and said 'Are you interested'?"
Sally and Letitia went up to Shepperton film studios in Middlesex to complete the filming.
For Letitia, her six weeks of stardom knocked spots off her only other role - a TV ad for pasta. "She loved it," said Sally. She got to meet all the stars and, instead of having to share me with the ten other dogs we have at home, she had my attention all day, every day."
