Southampton Cycle Speedway rider, Shaun Woodhouse stormed to victory last Saturday, winning the British Under-19 Individual Championship at Exeter.
Shaun, from North Baddesley, dropped just one point from five rides to finish one point ahead of his nearest challenger, Adam Peck from Great Blakenham.
The Southampton rider was unbeaten in his first three races and by heat 12 found himself leading the meeting.
He dropped his only point in his fourth ride to Eaton's Darren Slater who had started as the pre-meeting favourite.
Slater's chances had disappeared when he ran a last in one of his early rides.
Slater finished the meeting on 17-points, tied with his team-mate from Eaton, Daniel Pyke. Slater and Pyke then went head-to-head in a run-off, which Pyke won to secure the final rostrum place.
Probably the proudest person in Exeter on Saturday was Shaun's father, Ian, who himself had lifted the British under-19 title back in the 1970s.
