The Jubilee sailing Trust, with support from Marlow Ropes, is currently offering two people the chance to win a voyage of a lifetime on board their tall ship, Lord Nelson.

The three-masted barque was specially designed to enable able-bodied and physically disabled people to share in the challenge and adventure of off-shore sailing.

Marlow Ropes Ltd has pledged new ropes for the voyage which is open to any person, either able-bodied or disabled, to join the voyage crew of Lord Nelson on a seven-day round trip from Southampton.

Voyage LN547 will depart on September 29. It will sail out of the Solent to enjoy the last of the summer sun, visiting the Channel Islands or France, before mooring back in Southampton on October 5.

There will be plenty of opportunity to enjoy off-shore sailing and time at the ports to engage in some early Christmas shopping.

If you are aged 16 upwards and would like to win a place on board then e-mail the JST saying why you think you deserve to win this voyage of a lifetime.

Entries should be sent to competition@jst.org.uk with the reference title Marlow Ropes Competition or posted to Competition, Jubilee Sailing Trust, Hazel Road, Woolston, Southampton, SO19 7GB.

Entrants should give their name, address, telephone number and state whether they are able-bodied, physically disabled and/or a wheelchair user.

The closing date is August 26, at which time a draw will take place and the winners will be notified.

The prize includes all meals, wet weather gear, safety harnesses and accommodation on board.

Competition winners will be responsible for their own travel arrangements and expenses to and from the ship. Travel insurance can be arranged through the JST at a cost of £17.50.

For further information on the JST and its ships please visit the JST website at www.jst.org.uk.

Lord Nelson has many special facilities which enable disabled crew members to take an active part in the running of the ship.

Everyone on board the ship has a vital role to play irrespective of ability, disability, age or gender, the success of each voyage depends on teamwork and in working with individuals strengths, not weaknesses.

For many sailing with the JST has been a life changing experience, for others simply a fantastic adventure holiday.

Facilities on board include wide decks for wheelchair users, a speaking compass to enable blind people to helm the ship; power assisted hydraulic steering for those with limited strength and much more.
