MEMBERS of the Tidworth Development Trust are celebrating after receiving a grant of £4,995 from the National Lottery 'Awards for All' programme to help fund the Tidworth Festival.
The money will allow the Festival Task group to put on a series of events in Tidworth leading up to festival day on Saturday 12 July.
Events include a combined local schools choir and a performance by the world famous Lucknow Military Band.
There is also an evening concert with pop music from No Kan Do and The Smokehouse R and B Band.
Organisers say there will be a host of other things to see and do, with a photographic competition to enter and mosaics to be made.
Spokesman Alex Bostock said: "We have worked hard to develop the idea of a festival for Tidworth and to compile the grant application.
"Now we have the funding we are delighted to go ahead and set up the first annual festival for Tidworth."
