A Fareham police officer is to be given his fourth commendation for his services to the scientific services team.
Scenes of crime officer Det Sgt Robert Lamburne is to be decorated again for his 14 years service in the job and his work developing Hampshire police's policy on coping with major disasters.
The 49-year-old from Fareham said he was very pleased to be recognised for the work he had done. "Obviously there have been a few jokes made in the office but you have got to be proud of something like this.
"It is always nice to have your work recognised."
Having worked in Kosovo, for which he previously received a commendation, Det Sgt Lamburne used his experiences to help develop the guidelines for dealing with major disasters across Hampshire.
He is also part of the team that examines the scenes of particularly complicated or serious crimes in a bid to put together forensic evidence that could help determine what happened.
He said: "I learnt a lot from my time in Kosovo. The thing that I always experience in my job is the human impact of crimes that are committed."
