SUPERMARKET bosses are on to a new racket, serving up free tennis lessons with punnets of strawberries.
Richie Martin, fresh fruit manager for Sainsbury's at Hedge End, came up with the idea when he was inspired by this year's Wimbledon tennis championships.
Mr Martin believes the free Hampshire Tennis and Fitness Centre sessions given away with £1.79 packs of strawberries could be just the thing to find the next Tim Henman, who plays his Wimbledon quarter-final against Frenchman Sebastien Grosjean today.
He said: "The tennis centre is very near to the store so we decided to see if we can promote tennis and see if we can find a local hero."
