THIS COLOURFUL giant is standing guard outside Southampton's Freemantle Infant School after being created by children in an art week.
Local artist David McDurmuid visited the youngsters and helped them fashion the 8ft sculpture, before treating it with resin to make it waterproof for about six months.
Head teacher Kevin Barnett said: "The children think it's fantastic. It was a wonderful day and they got a lot out of it.
"It brought the wonder back into their world because it was something totally different."
