PUPILS at Weeke Primary School took part in a fun event designed to tackle the growing problem of childhood obesity.
Children took a trip to Sainsbury's at Badger Farm, Winchester, with community dietician Karen Hazzard from Winchester and Eastleigh Healthcare NHS Trust.
During a tour of the supermarket they were encouraged to identify the healthy food choices and enjoyed a fruit tasting session.
The visit formed part of the national 'Eat 2b Fit' campaign run by the British Dietetic Association throughout June.
Aimed at seven to 11-year-olds, it promotes the importance of a balanced diet and physical activity in childhood. A recent survey showed that one in five children are now overweight and one in ten are obese.
