Leighton knew they would be in for a tough match against Adams Roofing.
Leighton had three players missing - on school trips - and only six players on the court. But they were not about to be beaten and started the match with a fighting spirit.
The depleted side worked well in the first quarter and Adams took a little adjusting to the six players on court. To their credit Leighton only trailed by one goal at the interval 4-5.
The team continued to work hard but needed to convert more goals, which were proving tricky against Adams' tall goalkeeper and goal defence.
At half time Adams led 11-8. Leighton had to keep the pressure up and continue to work for every ball and not give up to ensure they did not get left behind.
Leighton's fitness levels were good and although both teams seemed to lose a little concentration in the third quarter, Adams increased their lead slightly.
Going into the final quarter Leighton were trailing by 11 goals and knew they had to keep battling on to try and secure a point by scoring half the amount of Adams goals.
Unfortunately this was not to be and Adams were the eventual winners 31-10.
