AS THE curtain came down on another Power in the Park, a Hampshire public relations agency played an important role in making the event a considerable success once again.
The annual free event on the Common had just seen some of Britain's best known pop acts perform including Busted, Kym Marsh, Mel C, Mis-Teeq and Girls Aloud in front of more than 50,000 people.
With a brief to maximise the media coverage, Leepeckgreen-field (LPGF) ensured the main regional TV were covering the event, as well as specialised pop magazines, national and regional papers, including the Daily Echo.
Lucy Rosseter, account manager for LPGF said: "We're delighted with the response from the media and we have achieved tremendous coverage for the event. Part of our remit for the day was to make sure, wherever possible, that the journalists got their story, which isn't always easy!
"Liaising with the artists, the bands or their managers was an important part of our role on the day and we were pleased with the way it went."
Sophie Fenning, Power FM's Marketing Controller, commented: "Trying to keep all parties happy backstage on the day of an event like Power in the Park is not an easy task. Liaising between bands, their management and the media can be very demanding.
"We're delighted that Power FM can once again put on a show of this scale and keep so many people happy, both in front of house and backstage, and Leepeckgreenfield helped with this formidable task."
