During 2003 the Golf Roots initiative is taking place in four cities - Southampton, Birmingham, Liverpool and London.
In Birmingham the programme will reach 5,000 children from 20 inner city schools.
Activate UK aims to encourage children back into sport and the Golf Roots programme is designed to make golf more appealing to a wider audience.
Hopefully the programme can go some way towards breaking down the stereotypes surrounding golf and make the game more accessible to inner city children.
