Fareham'S parks will be blooming with fun activities this summer.
"The summer months are a great time to explore and enjoy the many open spaces in Fareham," said borough councillor and executive member for leisure Connie Hockley.
"There are a variety of informative events on offer including scenic walks, the chance to see some of the borough's plentiful plants and wildlife, and a good taste of food made from wild plants."
On Sunday, July 6 a guided walk will take in three natural beauty spots; Holly Hill, Wendleholme and Bunny Meadow. Fareham Borough and Hampshire County Council rangers will lead the way. Meet at Holly Hill car park at 2pm. A two-hour stroll on Portsdown Hill will look for wildflowers. Meet at Anson Grove, Portchester at 2pm on Sunday, July 20.
A guided walk with the chance to see wild deer will go through Southern Water's Peel Common Waste Water Treatment Works on Sunday, July 27. Meet at the site entrance off Newgate Lane at 10am.
A look at culinary and medicinal uses of wild plants with the chance to try a few recipes will happen at the Whiteley Community Centre at 2pm on Sunday, August 10.
The fascinating history of Holly Hill Woodland Park will be told on Sunday, August 17 at 2pm. Meet in the main car park on Barnes Lane, Sarisbury.
