The trial of an Alresford town councillor was adjourned at Basingstoke Magistrates' Court yesterday.
Robin Atkins faces two charges under the Public Order Act, relating to using threatening or abusive language or behaviour.
The offences are alleged to have been committed on January 20th and 30th. Mr Atkins was due before the magistrates yesterday, but did not appear.
A letter was read to the court from Mr Atkins's legal representatives, Winchester-based Shentons solicitors, saying their client intended to plead not guilty. The case was adjourned pending a pre-trial review on July 3rd.
