Chris Tremlett is set for a return to the Hampshire ranks - probably in Wednesday's ECB Second XI Trophy match against Gloucestershire at the Rose Bowl - after celebrating a five-wicket comeback for club side Hursley Park.
The lanky pace bowler, frustratingly sidelined with a right foot injury in recent weeks, took 5-14 in nine overs in Hursley Park's 70-run Southern Electric Premier League, Division 2 victory over Lymington at The Quarters.
Tremlett, run out without scoring when he batted earlier in the match, made an immediate impact with the new ball after tea.
He ripped out Zimbabwean brothers Tom and Danny Peacock in quick succession before coming back for a second spell and taking three more wickets.
Only Ben Craft, with a forceful 89, and latterly Adie Hunt (31) put up any resistance as Lymington crumbled to 169 all out and a fourth successive defeat.
Tremlett said: "I wasn't going to bowl but but I had a runaround on Friday with (Hampshire bowling coach) Bruce Reid, who's back for a month, and that went really well so I decided to bowl four overs after all.
"After bowling four I felt really good and ended up bowling nine.
"I didn't bowl flat out, I just bowled off a few paces, rolled the arm over and got the ball in the right areas.
"It was the first time I've played for Hursley for a couple of years. There are a few new faces there and good to play under Adi Aymes, he brings a lot of spirit to the side.
"There's a bit of pain in the hip which is an injury I've had since the start of the season and is nothing to worry about. The foot is fine, though.
"I'll bowl for the 2nds on Wednesday and Friday and should be available for the National League match against Northants on Sunday."
Lymington, meanwhile, were equally undone by Paul Edwards, whose classy 107 laid the foundations for Hursley's 239-8.
