You have to admire Paul Jones as a thoroughly nice bloke. He has always stayed loyal to his music and kept his feet on the ground, when as a leading figure in the 60s London scene he could so easily have lost himself.
Still today, he's in constant demand by the TV, film, radio and theatre worlds and has had major successes in most of these areas - but his heart and soul belongs to the blues. An expert in the genre, he's also ranked as one of the UK's most accomplished harmonica players.
As The Blues Band, he's joined by the talents of Dave Kelly, Tom McGuinness, Gary Fletcher and Rob Townsend.
Dave is regarded as one of the top bottleneck guitarists and has played with such Blues gods as Howling Wolf, John Lee Hooker and Buddy Guy.
Tom formed the Roosters, which featured Eric Clapton, in the 60s and later joined Manfred Mann.
Gary is on bass and vocals and has travelled through the genres of country and western, soul and hard rock before finding his home in the blues.
Rob is a master drummer and has played with the likes of Family, Medicine Head, Memphis Slim and Duane Eddy.
With such a high calibre ensemble, Blues fans will not be disappointed.
27 June, The Anvil, Basingstoke. Performance: 7.45pm Tickets: £13.50 Box office: 01256 844244
