A HAMPSHIRE county councillor has been summoned to appear before two separate standards committees next week following complaints about his conduct.
However, Tory councillor Phil Heath has branded the two committees "flawed" and a waste of taxpayers' money. He told the Daily Echo that he would refuse to appear before the two committees as he believed the complaints were politically motivated by Liberal Democrat members.
Councillor Heath is alleged to have said in a debate at a meeting of the full council in February this year that Liberal Democrats "lie and cheat".
In a separate complaint, Cllr Heath is alleged to have made remarks to a Totton councillor Liz Barron at a meeting of the Hampshire County Council's fire authority that her words could be taken "with a pinch of salt".
