WESTON Park Boys' School's triumphant Year 9 football team celebrate lifting the Hampshire County Cup after a nail-biting final.
The team of 13 and 14-year-olds lost a one-nil lead against Basingstoke's Bishops Challoner School team but held on to their nerve to survive golden goal extra time and took the game on penalties.
It was a glorious finale to a season which had seen them take on all comers from across Hampshire.
Success came on the back of an epic run in the National Cup where the team, which features three lads in football academies at Bournemouth, Portsmouth and Saints, had made it through to the last 16.
Jubilant coach and PE teacher Alan Orr said: "They are a hard-working bunch of boys and they thoroughly deserved this."
