TWO major competitions designed to bring out the artist in Winchester residents have been launched.
The Brooks shopping centre is holding competitions in photography and art.
The photographic competition is focussed on floral decorations around the city, with snappers allowed to send in up to ten photos - all of which have to have been taken within the city limits.
There will be three categories for which work can be submitted - professional, amateur and junior - with the winners receiving trophies and cash prizes. All photographs must be submitted between September 11 and September 16.
Light is the theme for the second competition with artists urged to hand in their pieces before the deadline on July 7.
The competition is open to all ages and tastes, including work in two or three dimensions. Six winners will be invited for a day's professional lesson at the prestigious Lainston House near Winchester.
To pick up an entry form, contact Pam Gillard or Merral Cocking on 01962 849030.
