THE two man crew of a light aircraft escaped with minor injuries after their plane flipped over making an emergency landing near Popham on Saturday afternoon.
The Jabiru SK plane landed in a field of oil seed at Warren Farm in Steventon around 2pm.
Inspector Kevin Baxman of Hampshire and Isle of Wight police, said: "It's understood shortly after take off the plane suffered engine problems or failure. The pilot, unable to turn around and land back on the airfield, landed safely in a field nearby. However, due to the terrain the plane slipped over and sustained serious damage."
The pilot and owner, a 43-year-old man from Berkshire, and his 51-year-old passenger from Hayling Island, suffered minor injuries.
