PUPILS from Shepherds Spring Infant School and members of the Andover Air Cadets have played their part in preparing the town for the forthcoming Test Valley in Bloom.
Youngsters from the school helped plant a dove of peace on the flower bed at South Street while the Cadets conducted a litter pick and planting in the park.
Ann Willens, horticulture officer at Test Valley Borough Council, said: "The flower bed is usually offered free to a charity but there wasn't one celebrating an anniversary this year. We decided to go for a peace sign with all that's happened this year and the children were keen on that idea."
She said preparations were going well for the Test Valley in Bloom judging, which is taking place at the beginning of July and for the Southern England in Bloom competition.
"We're hoping everyone will be able to make the place look especially nice on 17 July when the Southern England in Bloom judges visit."
