New Forest JUNIORS are celebrating the inclusion of five of their athletes in the Hampshire team for next month's English Schools' Track & Field Championships.
Hayley Pointer (Noadswood), Cassie Gear (Hardley), Hollie McManus (Hounsdown), Mandi Foote (Hounsdown) and Jessica McMonagle (Brockenhurst) are among the 60-strong travelling party for the two-day schools' extravaganza at Sheffield's Don Valley Stadium (July 11/12).
Club chairman Tim Wilding said: "Our sprints coach and coaching co-ordinator Gary Gray is very pleased to see such progress within the club, despite a chronic lack of facilities in the New Forest area.
"This success will strengthen the club's determination for improved facilities, including an all-weather training facility at one of the local schools."
