MANY New Forest Juniors were involved in the New Forest Schools Track and Field Championships at Bournemouth.

In the under-13 girls section, there were wins for Chloe Foot (Hardley) in the 100m, Gemma Willett (Hardley) in the 200m and Tiffany Markham (Hardley) in the high jump. Becky Knell (Testwood) in the javelin and Katie Jackson (Applemore) in the hurdles were both second.

Of the under-15s girls, Hayley Pointer (Noadswood) won the 1500m, Hayley Wright (Ringwood) took the long jump and Charlotte Walsh (Hardley) was second in the high jump.

In the under-17 age group, Hollie McManus (Houndsdown) won the 100m, Mandi Foote (Houndsdown) took the 300m, Charlotte Marsden (Priestlands) the 800m and Soko Kauwale (Applemore) the javelin.

Second places went to Carley Holder (Priestlands) in the 100m, Jo Foote (Houndsdown) the 800m and Laura Nuckley (Noadswood) in the discus.

In the under-13 boys age group, Nicholas Field (Priestlands) was second in the 100m and Alex Marsden (Priestlands) in the 800m. There were wins for Martin Bone (Applemore) in the under-15 boys age group hurdles and Dan Semmens (Hardley) took the javelin title. Dom McMonagle (Noadswood) was second in the 800m.

Laurence Bowen won the 400m under-17s boys event and Matt Scarfe (Applemore) the 1500m. Tom Cranmer (Burgate) was second in the 100m.

Poulner Junior School hosted the second New Forest Primary Schools Athletics League meeting. Lucy Wainwright (Blackfield) won the 600m B race and Alice Cole (Blackfield) took the league record in the Turbo Javelin (15.20m).

Blackfield won both the girls' and boys' competitions, closely followed by Calmore.
