Eastleigh Borough Youth theatre is preparing for its busiest summer yet - with three different theatre projects for budding actors.

Renowned for its annual summer shows produced in a week, this summer's main production is Steven Berkoff's mythologically-inspired play Agamemnon.

Anyone aged eight to 20 is invited to audition on July 20. There will then be a week of rehearsals from August 21 to August 28, with the final performances scheduled for August 29 to August 31 at Eastleigh's Point dance and arts centre.

Running concurrently with the main theatre project is a series of theatre skills workshops for eight to 12-year-olds, running August 25 to August 28.

The summer programme also gives over-18s a chance to join new company Moving On.

EBYT director Tim Ford will lead a small group in rehearsing and performing a new musical, Songs for a New World.

Auditions take place at The Station, Chandler's Ford, on July 14 at 6.30pm, with rehearsals from August 18 to August 30.

For a chance to see the youth theatre in action, you can catch their latest production, Jesus Christ Superstar, at the Point from July 9 to July 12.
