STUDENTS from Eastleigh's Barton Peveril College are setting out to expose the truth about the Vietnam War through the eyes of women.
They are performing the play Piece Of My Heart by Shirley Lauro, a true story set in 1969 about six different women and their experiences during the infamous conflict.
Students are wearing original American uniforms from the 1950s and 60s for the performances at the college tomorrow and Thursday at 7.30pm.
Director Emma Knott said: "This play has come at a very poignant time.
"It has been an excellent opportunity for our students to gain greater knowledge of the war in Vietnam, not just from film-based sources, but from true accounts taken from the hard working, yet barely acknowledged women in this war."
Student and cast member Sam Chun added: "It has been wonderful to develop a fantastic performance with such a lovely group of people.
"We have all grown really close, and it will be a shame when it's all over."
Tickets cost £3 and can be obtained by calling 023 8036 7200.
