Hers was one of the most beautiful voices I have ever heard.
As Anne-Sophie Duprels sang Mimi in La Boheme at Grange Park on Saturday an audience of seasoned opera goers was rendered spellbound.
The slick production has cleverly selected the French soprano to play opposite John Hudson's Rodolfo.
Their voice complemented each other perfectly and together they gave Puccini's tragic love story a heart-tugging poignancy which resulted in a lunge for the Kleenex at the end.
To single out individuals is unfair as the entire cast was excellent.
