A GIRLS' cricket team have knocked opposition from around Hampshire for six to become county champions and make it through to the national finals.
The talented Hook-with-Warsash School team beat off stiff opposition to win the county championship at the Rose Bowl.
Now the under 11 girls' squad are preparing to do battle for the national title next month at Taunton in Somerset.
"We are extremely proud of them. We are renowned for our academic results but also now in sport which is doubly nice," said Madeline Broughton from the school.
"The girls are ecstatic and looking forward to representing Hampshire at the national final."
