It is believed gate receipts and bar and catering monies from that one game was more cash than Hampshire would generate from around three county championship matches spanning 12 days.
The Rose Bowl hosts its first-ever one-day international on July 10 and another near full house is expected for the game between South Africa and Zimbabwe.
An attendance in the region of 6,500 is expected for the day-night National League match against Northants on Wednesday, July 30.
And decent crowds should be guarantee if Hampshire maintain their position near the top of the limited-overs league.
On August 30 a big crowd is expected for a concert featuring pop stars Blue, Darius, The Drifters and Sinead Quinn.
A day later the Royal Philarmonic Orchestra will put on a Last Night of the Proms-type performance.
They will be backed by 80s child star Aled Jones.
