Gosport's Rory Gillard and his Cockney crew on London Clipper had a great 12-hour run in the current leg of the Clipper 2003 race.
The yacht covered 186 miles on a northerly passage towards the Agulhas current bound for Cape Town, South Africa.
Fellow Gosport sailor Ross Daniel, skipper of New York Clipper, is holding onto his well-established third place and continuing to make more of a Southerly course towards the next waypoint at Port Elizabeth.
