South Wilts, the Salisbury club, won the all-day encounter at London Road on Saturday by a comfortable margin.
The visitors rattled up 183, and the home side lost by 80-odd runs. At 84 for 4 at lunch the city club were on the rack but knuckled down after the break to notch up 183.
The Powells side were always up against it, and were dismissed for 100 it what can only be described as a poor batting display on a deteriorating wicket. The side's cause was not helped by the withdraw of Richard Taylor due to a pulled shoulder muscle.
The second team fared little better, scoring 187 for 8, and the home side eased past the town club's score for the loss of only five wickets.
The thirds returned to winning ways, with Rob Ooostedorp scoring 100 and Chris Hadfield taking three wickets as they won easily against Ampfield, while the fourth team tied their second match out of three!
The experienced Pat Littlehales took six wickets to turn the match in the club's favour.
The fifth team, yet to win a match, were all out for 130 and took eight opposition wickets to lose by 2 wickets. The first team travel to Bashley tomorrow. Dean Woodhouse will have a fitness test and if not fit Martin Docis will come in. Cille van der Merwre is unavailable so Simon Mundy comes into the Powells side to keep wicket.
