IT was a gloriously sunny day for the children at the Humpty Dumpty Playschool fete in Monxton on Saturday. Youngsters and their parents turned out to enjoy a wide variety of activities on a day when the weather was kind.
One of the many highlights was a display by Andover firefighters. Children were shown around the fire engine and allowed to wear a helmet.
Another popular activity was face painting and temporary tattoos and other attractions included a pony and trap, a 'fishing' pool, a hair-braiding stall and goal-scoring competition.
A good time was had by all but there was a serious side to the proceedings as well. Nearly £2,500 was made from the fete which will go towards the playschool's building fund.
