Saints chairman Rupert Lowe has denied the latest round of transfer speculation and it seems unlikely there will be any new faces at St Mary's until July.
The majority of rumours have been knocked down by the club - the latest, as revealed in later editions of yesterday's Daily Echo, involving West Ham's Trevor Sinclair, Nice forward Kaba Diawara and Swedish midfielder Kim Kallstrom.
So far this summer Saints have also been linked to a massive number of stars such as:
Monaco pair Shabani Nonda and Franck Jurietti.
Nottingham Forest striker Marlon Harewood and Manchester City veteran Shaun Goater.
Motherwell striker James McFadden.
Spanish international Gaizeka Mendieta and Manchester United ace Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
Other strikers mentioned are Dino Favia of Brescia and Morrocan Hicham Abourcherouane.
On the goalkeeping front, Croatian Stipe Pletikosa was rumoured to be a target.
Ipswich pair Darren Bent, Matt Richards were also linked.
And so have been Crewe youngster Dean Ashton, Swedish international midfielder Christoph Anderson, Chinese international Li Tie and West Brom's Welsh midfielder Jason Koumas.
Of the most recent speculation, Lowe, pictured above, said: "There is nothing in any of those rumours.
"We are looking to bring in a couple of new faces but there is no truth in those three.
"We know the areas we want to strengthen if possible and we have a few possibilities but there is nothing imminent."
Saints confirmed they have targets in mind but with players and managers away on holiday at the moment there is unlikely to much movement in or out until July.
In the past couple of days Solskjaer himself has put to bed reports he has been spotted in Southampton by saying: "I have not heard a thing about the rumours but of course it is all nonsense.
"I can guarantee I'm staying at United. No other clubs interest me."
Only last week the Daily Echo were contacted by Saints fans saying they had spotted the Old Trafford ace in the city - on the same day he scored for Norway in a Euro 2004 qualifier against Romania!
Saints have admitted they are also looking to add some promising youngsters to the ranks.
