COPYTHORNE went carnival crazy as villagers embarked on two days of summer celebrations.
Blazing sunshine ensured a bumper crowd at the carnival, held on the scout field beside St Mary's Church in Romsey Road.
The event turned into another triumph for the organisers, the 2nd New Forest North (Stanley's Own) Scout Group.
Arena events included a fun-filled version of TV's The Generation Game and a cart race between Copythorne's two scout troops.
Mr Crusty the Clown helped to make sure that everyone had a good time.
Peter Lewis, of Winsor, turned part of the field into Fergiland, an exhibition of Ferguson tractors and other farming implements past and present.
The event was opened by carnival queen Katie Jeans and her two attendants, Hannah Hayward and Becky Buckeridge.
Music was provided by three marching bands - the 1st Totton Boys and Girls Brigade, the 14th Eastleigh (Spitfires) Scout Band and the Stanley's Own Scout and Guide Band.
Many of the floats in the carnival procession had a Caribbean theme.
The event was followed yesterday by the Copythorne Steam and Vintage Rally, held at the same location.
A 1919 Ford Model T was one of the gleaming vintage cars on parade at the Copythorne Steam and Vintage Rally.
Organised by the 2nd New Forest North (Stanley's Own) Scout Group, the rally first switched into gear seven years ago.
It was the brainchild of Bob Smith, who was then chairman of the carnival committee and wanted to show off his restored lorry. So he decided to organise a rally for other motor enthusiats.
And it has become such a roaring success that the showground has spilled over into a neighbouring field and into Copythorne School.
The fleet of more than 120 vehicles included steam engines, tractors, vintage fire engines, cars, and motor cycles.
