MUSIC legends including Paul Weller, Iggy Pop and Bryan Adams descend on the Isle of Wight today for the latest Rock Island festival.
Revived last year after a 32-year absence, organisers have assembled a formidable line-up of talent for this year's event, which runs today and tomorrow at Seaclose Park, Newport.
Today's line-up consists of former Jam frontman Paul Weller, American punk icon Iggy Pop, indie favourites Starsailor, newcomers The Thrills, guitarist John Squire and The Cooper Temple Clause.
Tomorrow, fans will be rocking to the sounds of Canadian star Bryan Adams, Counting Crows, The Darkness, Hell is for Heroes and The Raveonettes.
The festival was relaunched last year with acts including Robert Plant, The Bees and 60s star The Crazy World of Arthur Brown, but attracted less than 10,000 visitors - far fewer than expected.
The 1970 festival near Freshwater went down in rock legend after more than 400,000 music fans invaded the site, and was declared free after perimeter fences were torn down. Performers at the 'British Woodstock' included Jimi Hendrix, Leonard Cohen, Miles Davis and The Doors.
This weekend's festival starts at midday with The Nautical Theme and ends with Bryan Adams.
