LIKE Marmite and Carry On films, caravans are one of those typically British things that you either love or hate.
While some people like to forget about their day-to-day lives when they go on holiday, others prefer to take a microcosm of their home with them in the form of a caravan.
Ron and Yvonne fall into the latter category. Every weekend they head to the coast to get away from it all in their prize four-berth caravan.
But when Grant and Steph pull up alongside their perfect pitch, things take a definite turn for the worse.
Grant and Steph are campsite neighbours from hell. If an Englishman's home-from-home is his caravan, then Ron and Yvonne had better pull up the drawbridge and prepare for battle.
It's the start of a weekend that none of them will forget.
Perfect Pitch was written by John Godber, who has enjoyed international success with numerous hit productions of his work, including Up 'n' Under, On the Piste and Bouncers.
The cast of the show features several familiar faces, including Robert Angell from London's Burning, The Bill and several soaps, Michelle Chadwick, from Holby City and Heartbeat, Ged McKenna from Murphy's Law and Gilly Cohen who has just finished playing the title role in Marylin Monroe on a national tour.
Perfect Pitch is a great play to get you in the mood for your summer holiday - especially if you're planning on staying in a caravan.
Haymarket Theatre, Basingstoke until June 28. Tickets: from £8.50. Box office: 01256 465566.
