John Crockford is out of Sunday's World Supersports Championship motorcycle road race at Silverstone.
Padgett Honda have not taken up their wildcard entry because they want to do some development work on the bikes before the next round of the British Championship.
Clive Padgett, who runs the team, also wanted to take time out today to attend the funeral of his Yorkshire neighbour Dave Jefferies, who was killed practising for the Isle of Man TT races.
Southampton racer Crockford said: "I'm sick to be missing out on Silverstone. A ride in the world championships would have been a great experience - a chance to test myself against the best in the world. Chances like that don't come along too often."
HAMPSHIRE Motocross Club is once again holding its annual event in aid of Leukaemia Busters, a childrens' leukaemia research charity, on June 22.
The event is for top class solo motocross riders and quad riders to compete in an action-packed day's racing at the excellent Fobdown Farm Circuit, Old Alresford, Hants. It's signposted between Old and New Alresford on the B3046.
Admission is £4 and under-14s are free. Practice starts at 10am, heats at 11am and the first race at noon.
