POSTCODE confusion in Tidworth and Ludgershall is having a knock on effect in Andover claims an Admirals Way resident.
After reading the story in last week's Andover Advertiser Clinton Dickie who lives in Napier Walk in Andover contacted the paper to say he sometimes receives mail for Napier Close, Tidworth.
"I hope people in Tidworth and Ludgershall are successful in getting their postal addresses sorted out," he said. "In the meantime I would urge them to ensure they put Tidworth, Wilts rather than Tidworth Hants as their address.
"Even the authorities and organisations such as Yellow Pages refer to Tidworth, Hants."
The issue has been raised by Kennet District Council with Royal Mail. But the council has in the past aided the myth that the communities are in Hampshire. Kennet's parish book for 2001, which lists all parish chairmen and clerks, has Hampshire addresses for Tidworth, Ludgershall and the Chutes.
