TEST Valley Mayor, Cllr Pat West, arrived in style at the launch of the fourth Open Art festival at Project Workshops in Quarley on Saturday.
She was riding as co-driver in the lead car of a convoy of Ferraris, which started in Romsey before roaring through Test Valley.
Mrs West and the spectacular cars arrived for an exclusive gala evening at Project Workshops where the Open Art 2003 festival was officially launched.
Special guests enjoyed live entertainment from Just 4 Jazz as well as a glass of wine and canaps.
The Open Art festival has really taken off this year with more than 80 local artists and craftspeople taking part across 25 venues in Test Valley.
One of the highlights this year will be world famous wildlife artist David Shepherd.
As well as an exhibition and print sale at the Mountbatten Gallery in Lee, near Romsey, on 21 and 22 June - where he will be signing his prints and books - he will be giving an illustrated talk on the Saturday evening, 21 June at 7.30pm in the Plaza Theatre, Romsey.
Test Valley Borough Council has produced a colour brochure to support the festival. For a copy or for further details contact Kirsty Ball on 01264 368839 or visit www.openart.info.
