A GROUP of curry fans proved to be hot stuff in a special fundraiser.

Fans of the Indian dish piled into the Gandhi Restaurant in the Eastleigh Swan Centre to raise money for the Jubilee sailing Trust.

The management of the eatery donated half of the restaurant takings collected that night.

An auction of two Jools Holland tickets and a charity raffle pushed the total up to £735.

Money raised in the bash will be used as sponsorship for the Southampton Airport Runway Run on June 21.

Radio Solent presenter Jon Cuthill, who attended the meal, will trek up and town the runway to raise more money for the charity who help physically disabled people enjoy sailing holidays.

Volunteer Sonja Davison said: "It was a really good night. The place was packed."
