In the third annual fundraiser businesses including Arla Foods, Exel and Sherwood Commercial Vehicles took part in seven boat races to raise money for the Outward Bound Trust.

Skipper Rupert Tildesley of Easynet accepted first prize from Prince Andrew, who is chairman of the charity which helps underprivileged youngsters enjoy activities from raft building to mountain climbing.

Addressing crowds at the Royal Southern Yacht Club Prince Andrew said: "Thank you very much for supporting Outward Bound in this way.

"The fun you've had over the past two days will go an enormous way to helping other disadvantaged people to face challenges they otherwise wouldn't have the opportunity to face.

Meanwhile the Princess Royal was also in Hampshire last night when she paid a visit to two of Gosport's tourist attractions.
