Hampshire women's golfers mean to capitalise on home advantage in County Week starting next Monday.

They take on Hertfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Berkshire and Oxfordshire in the familiar surroundings of Royal Winchester.

And, if anything, they have a stronger squad than last year when they won their weekly round of matches before losing out to Kent in the regional final.

Apart from Curtis Cup player and twice county champion Kerry Smith, Hampshire can call on Natalie Booth and Elizabeth Bennett, who are just back home from American golfing scholarships.

Non-playing captain Penny Bodkin has selected a good mix of youth and experience, with the likes of new junior champion Lala Admed and former England seniors champion Chris Stirling in the squad.

Hampshire: Kerry Smith & Lala Ahmed (Waterlooville), Chris Quinn & Fiona Khan (South Winchester), Natalie Booth & Elizabeth Bennett (Brokenhurst Manor), Annabel Silk (Corhampton), Helen Wheeler (Hockley) and Chris Stirling (Meon Valley).

Hampshire's rest day next week is Wednesday.
