Celebrations are under way at The Cricketers pub on Jackmans Lane, in Owslebury, after its talented golf team won the south-east regional finals of the Bass Ale Golfing Pub-of-the-Year Tournament.
It puts the team through to the national final in the golfing Mecca of Vilamoura, Portugal on June 19-22.
The Cricketers - Laurence Ruffell, Les Oram, Paul Lamb and Keith Kimber - put in a storming performance at the two-day regional final at Wokefield Park Golf Club, Reading to score an impressive 281 points.
Next week's national finals will see The Cricketers compete over two rounds of golf - at Pinhal, the most popular course in Vilamoura, and the prestigious Old Course, twice host to the Portuguese Open.
"Since this year's national tournament first teed off in October, 2002, over 7,500 golf fanatics have played some impressive rounds on some of the best courses in the UK," said Bass Ale spokesman Graeme Mitchell.
"Now, at this nail-biting stage of the tournament, the six talented national finalists will get the chance to play on two of the best courses in the world."
