A SOUTHAMPTON design consultancy has sponsored a junior triathlon club in Hampshire with a funky new website.

Members of Hamble's Chapel Tristars - who swim, cycle and run - can now log on to the Internet to find out training dates, venues and results.

The website was thought up by up- and-coming 3 Men & A Surfboard.

Simon Heron, a director, said: "It will be a major asset for the club helping forge new partnerships with other triathlon clubs.

"It will overcome a lot of their administrative problems, communicating training dates, races and results. Different children train on different nights. They never get everybody in the one place at the same time."

One week after its launch the British Triathlon Association has approached the club to ask if the site can become the central information resource for downloading junior race results.

Club chairman Adrian Butt said: "There are some amazing features, including an area where kids can ask questions on-line and even post confidential questions that they may be embarrassed to ask in front of their mates, as well as easy-to-download training times and other information.

"Probably the cleverest part is the news page where we can add the latest stories, photographs and important information ourselves without having any technical knowledge.

"We hope this will act as a great community area to showcase the achievements of the children to themselves and people outside the club."
