At the half way point in the season contenders for the four Road Runners Ten series' titles are starting to pull away from the field.
After another comprehensive victory in the men's race, New Forest's Lee Rodriguez is leading the season's standings and has put himself in a great position to regain the title he won in 2001.
Rodriguez, along with last year's title winner and clubmate Chris Olden, are leading New Forest Runners to what looks like the fourth successive year of claiming the men's team championship.
They were home in first and second places in the latest event which was organised by Southampton City and Winchester & District AC at Itchen Valley Country Park.
Team Solent registered a one, two, three in the women's race - thanks to Georgie Parnell, Claire Thorne and Ceri Mitchell.
But it is Winchester's Bev Edwards who heads the table in the women's individual competition after five races. She was ineligible to run at Itchen Valley as her club were one of the event organisers.
Edward's main challenge is likely to come from one of Team Solent's youngsters who picked up team honours with ease in the last race.
The overall women's team league is less predictable.
Winchester and Team Solent have won all of the races between them but do not have a reliable turnout of their best runners.
This may allow Hardley to keep the title they won last summer. Their consistent turnout has given them second place in every event so far.
The next race will be held at Manor Farm Country Park on June 18 (7.30pm) and is being organised by Eastleigh Running Club.
