IT MAY be 25 years since she was catapulted to fame after winning TV talent show Opportunity Knocks, but Pam Ayres is still the nation's favourite poet - and that's official.
Pam, whose poem I Wish I'd Looked After Me Teeth was recently voted the nation's favourite comic poem, is back on the road with a brand-new show packed with stories, jokes and classic comic ditties such as The Battery Hen and Clive the Fearless Birdman.
The first half of the show sees Pam telling humorous stories about her idyllic childhood in North Berkshire, while in the second half, she discusses such everyday tribulations as the map-reading wife trying to find her way through a maze of B roads, while her husband begins to boil over with frustration.
Pam's across the board appeal and ability to turn human frailities into funny rhymes which appeal to all age groups still command sell-out audiences.
Thursday. Performance: 7.30pm. Tickets: £12. Box office: 01202 499148
