WORK on a multi-surface court at Durley recreation ground should be completed in time for the summer holiday, the annual parish council meeting was told.
But the meeting heard that the newer play area provided in the Westbury (Sawmill) area was in need of considerable attention. Westbury is being informed. Skateboarding facilities were also discussed, but no decision was made as further enquiries are necessary. Councillors were pleased speed limit signs were in place, although some traffic signs were not visible because of the spring growth of hedges.
Other traffic safety measures were still awaiting completion. The Memorial Hall fence had been repaired and Mr Ian Slater had offered to plant up the flower beds.
Hall management chairman Jim Carter is discussing improvements to the hall heating and upgrading the toilet area.
