AFTER much hard work, setbacks and a major financial glitch the very first signs of work on the Pilgrims Way/River Way community centre will be seen on Monday.
Workmen will surround the Way Out Club site with fencing ready for work on the new building to start on 23 June.
And as the project comes to fruition, five volunteers were recognised for their work by receiving awards from the Test Valley Community Services on Wednesday.
Project spokesman Marcus Sawkins said: "We would like to take this opportunity to thank Hampshire County Council for their recent grant of £12,500. "We would also like to thank Test Valley Borough Council and local business for their support and contributions."
Residents from the two estates are being invited to attend a meeting of the association at The Swallow pub on 17 June at 7.30pm. And the association will be holding a fundraising event on the field between the two estates on 21 September.
