SPECIAL public transport services are being laid on this weekend to ferry pop fans to Power in the Park on Southampton Common.

Extra train and bus links are being provided to help music lovers desperate to see the likes of Dannii Minogue, Busted and Blazin' Squad reach their destination on Sunday afternoon.

Up to 65,000 people are expected to flock to the Common on Sunday betweem 12 noon and 4pm for the ninth annual free pop concert organised by 103.2 Power FM.

Acts lined up for the event include Girls Aloud, Melanie C and former Steps star Lisa Scott-Lee.

Additional train services will be operating into Southampton Central station and a ten-minute return bus service will be provided from Central Station to the Common, with the last bus leaving the Common from Bellemoor Road at 5.20pm.

Cemetery Road and Northlands Road will be closed on Sunday from approximately 6am to 6pm.

All of Cemetery Road will be closed to allow people with disabilities to park as near to the site as possible, while Northlands Road will be closed from The Avenue to Hulse Road, allowing pedestrians to enter and leave the site more freely.
